Life can be bitter and sweet.

“Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re going to get.”

                                                              ~ Forrest Gump movie quote

"Life offers miracles and mysteries.  We all have a long list of "why and how did this happen?"  Life is ever changing and surprising us.  Nothing in life is permanent or guaranteed.  Life is precious.  Live it well.  Let gratitude, hope and love anchor you in peace today.  In spite of any changes, suffering or stress in your life and in this world---it is a choice to rejoice.  It is a daily choice to focus on your blessings as you relax into the acceptance that you cannot control other people or circumstances. With a refreshed mind and a grateful heart you can experience a peace that surpasses all understanding. You can learn to be comfortable with the unknown. You can stop clinging to false security and respond to changes in your life without anger, denial or familiar habits of escape or isolation.

I work constantly on developing my faith, courage, self-worth, my sense of humor and ability to flow and let go. I offer on my web site a prayer for comfort. Hopefully it will bless those who are “going through” (divorce, loss of a job, etc.)

As I wrote in my book, You Are Too Blessed to Be Stressed, “Life is both difficult and divine.” It is human nature to try to seek pleasure and to avoid pain and change.

Have you noticed how fear can cause you to shut down, hold back, isolate, become sick and close your eyes, heart and mind?

A mind full of fear causes us to feel miserable, vulnerable and like a victim without hope. A mind full of fear has tunnel vision focusing only on the door that closed. Fear never allows us to see the other doors of possibilities. (God has not given us such a spirit of fear. 2 Timothy 1:7).

To cope with change, I challenge myself to stay awake instead of blaming, numbing myself or turning in the opposite direction. Walking by faith and not by sight into new doors is an attitude that helps me to develop a spirit of hope, a mind of possibilities and a heart of joy and gratitude. Nothing in life is permanent or guaranteed. Life is precious and unpredictable. Life is bitter and life is sweet.

I offer my book “Shift Happens” as a tool to help cultivate your mind with seeds of faith, courage, hope, peace and adaptability." ~ Jewel Diamond Taylor
