Choose your battles wisely

"Sometimes your anger can be so subtle that you don't even realize you are neglecting your health, your goals/dreams, your family, your house or your job.       The anger can be so paralyzing that you put your happiness on layaway waiting until "someday" to enjoy the gift of life.

Choose your battles wisely.  Don't allow old hurts or disappointments to keep you from living with gratitude, hope, joy, love, peace, forgiveness, faith and action.     The past has passed.  Do you have control over what happened?  What role, if any, did you have in participating in your own misery?  Are you willing to let it go and grow?  Why do you want to hold on to it?              Is it necessary?  Is your anger triggering other issues that need to be addressed?   Is your anger a wake up call to take action (i.e. abuse, self-esteem, relationships, injustice)?

Anger is one letter short from danger.                                     Is your unresolved anger causing you to lash out at the wrong time and to the wrong people?  Is your anger jeopardizing your health, career and relationships?       Has your anger robbed of sleep and a sense of humor?

Are you tired of carrying the pain?  Do you want to feel better?  Do you want revenge or do you want renewal?  Do you want more peace or more pain?

Breathe!  Breathe!  Breathe!  Be totally present in this moment, in this day, in your body, in your home, in your job, in your mind and in your heart.  Write down on a piece of paper what you are angry about.  Put the story behind your anger into perspective.  Pray about it and then either let it go or take positive measures to put out the consuming toxic fire of anger."
