Yes, you should have a healthy self-esteem, however being cocky, prideful, arrogant, conceited, and demanding are not aspects of self-esteem.

Everything that happens to you or around you are not always about YOU.  Let go of any manipulative hidden agenda for self-importance or self-righteousness to fix people.   Humble yourself to serve.  Sit on your ego.  See the bigger picture of how God can use you as a servant to lead, love, serve and bless others.

Be completely humble and gentle, be patient, bearing with one another in love.
 - Ephesians 4:2

Let you conversations be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone. - Colossians 4:6

Let your gentleness be evident to all. - Phillipians 4:5
