Maintain a healthy lifestyle with live foods (fruits and vegetables).  Avoid fast and fatty foods.  Exercise, enjoy nature, reduce your stress and avoid sodas, caffeine, sugar, chemicals and drugs.

Health is your first wealth

Tips for healthy living from Jewel Diamond Taylor

 1) Move More
Make it a daily challenge to find ways to move your body. Climb stairs if given a choice between that and escalators or elevators. Walk your dog; chase your kids; play some ball, mow the lawn.  Park a little further at the mall and grocery store so you can walk more.

 2) Quit Smoking

 3) Reduce the caffeine (coffee, tea, sodas)

  4) Have more fun...lighten up.

  5) Spend more time with true friends.

  6) Keep a Positive Mental Outlook
There's a real connection between living well and having a cheerful outlook on life.

  7) Manage your money well to reduce stress.

  8)  Your immune system is improved as you walk by faith and follow your

                              purpose.

  9)   Stay away from combative and stressful people.

   10) Being organized and punctual reduces your stress.

Manage your time well.  Time lost is time lost.

                                  Arrest the thief called procrastination.

   11) Stay current with check ups (mammogram, blood pressure, cholesterol,

                                    dental, vision, etc.)

   12)  Enjoy healthy "live" food.

  • Eat organically grown fruits and vegetables as much as possible as well as organic products made from wheat and soy.
  • Eliminate polyunsaturated vegetable oils, margarine, vegetable shortening, all partially hydrogenated oils, all foods (such as deep-fried foods) that might contain trans-fatty acids. Use extra-virgin olive oil as your main fat.

 Cut the Fat
Avoid the obvious such as fried foods, burgers and other fatty meats (i.e. pork, bacon, ham, salami, ribs and sausage). Dairy products such as cheese, cottage cheese, milk and cream should be eaten in low fat versions. Nuts and sandwich meats, mayonnaise, margarine, butter and sauces should be eaten in limited amounts.

    13) Meditate and enjoy nature more.

   14) Stop doing tooooo much.  Learn to delegate.  Focus on your priorities.

Learn to say "no" to unnecessary requests of your time or money.

   15) Get sufficient rest.  Turn off the TV.

   18) Learn how to stop the "emotional eating"

   19) Drink more water, LESS soda.

One can of soda has about 10 teaspoons of sugar, 150 calories, 30 to 55 mg of caffeine, and is loaded with artificial food colors and sulphites (sulfurous acid).  People who drink 3 or more sugary sodas daily have 62% more dental decay, fillings and tooth loss!

Mountain Dew-20 oz is the worst soda.  It contains 19 tsps of sugar and 93 milligrams of caffeine.......nearly equivalent to adult dose of NoDoz.

   20) Love and value your life.  Take off your superwoman/man cape.

It's good to take care of others...just be smart and proactive with your own self-care.

"Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you?"--1 Corinthians 3:16

The healing presence of God is revitalizing me.  I am an expression of divine life.
With every breath I take, I breathe in the life of God. Because I know this truth, I understand that, cell by cell, my body is constantly revitalized and renewed. As my mind becomes calm, my emotions are healed.
I am one with God, one with the healing power of God. Because my body is a temple of the living God, I am created for life, created to be a blessing in life. I know the truth of who I am as an expression of divine life.
As one of God's beloved children, I know my inheritance is health and wholeness. I do not entertain any thoughts of myself or those I love as being subject to illness of any kind. In my mind's eye, I see the healing light of God blessing and renewing me and blessing and renewing God's children throughout the world. We are expressions of divine life. ~ Daily Word

I am not the athletic physical type. The thought of exercising is not something I get excited about. However, I don’t like gaining weight, breathing with difficulty and getting depressed when I shop for new clothes either. Subsequently, I have to motivate myself to go the gym, put down the cookies and walk away from the chips, candy and cake.

I have to psyche myself up to go to the gym. But let me tell you something --- after I go for a workout, I feel so good about myself. I feel like I’m doing the smart adult thing by taking care of myself. My self-esteem goes up a notch. I find myself meditating and even releasing stored up stress, depression and anger while on the treadmill. I feel younger as I attend the dance and kickboxing class. I may not be able to keep up but at least I’m not sitting on the couch eating ice cream because I depressed. I notice when I exercise I sleep better at night and I know my body is rejoicing because it is getting stronger.

I created this acronym for myself to keep me motivated. Maybe it will inspire you too.

  • E - exercise and strengthen your body
  • X - get rid of the fat
  • E - experience more energy
  • R - release anger and stress
  • C - calories will burn up
  • I - image will be enhanced
  • S - self-esteem will improve
  • E - eat fruits, vegetables and whole grains

If you struggle with weight issues --- you are not alone. If you can’t get to a gym, start exercising in your home.  Begin to clean out your refrigerator of all the soda, sugar, junk food and fatty dairy products. When you order any products from my web site, I will send you my e-booklet "Tips on Successful Weight Loss" for FREE (limited time offer).
